Runners follow a challenging, high-elevation point-to-point course for this race, which starts at the area of the park known as The Watchman. From there, runners make their way around the north rim of the park, passing by and through areas, rocks and peaks including Hillman Peak, North Junction, Cleetwood Cove, Mazama Rock, Round Top and Wineglass, to the race finish at Scotts Bluff, roughly a mile away from the rim overlooking the lake.
