The Critz Tybee Run Fest Half Marathon course — officially titled the CHU’s Half Marathon — takes runners along a route made up entirely of asphalt/paved city streets on Tybee Island, to both ends of this 21-square-mile barrier island along the Georgia coast and passes by sights such as the Fort Screven Historic District, Jaycee Park and the historic Tybee Island Light Station, one of handful of 18th-century-era lighthouses still in operation in the United States. Runners start the race on 15th Street, and finish two blocks down on 16th Street.
