Runners follow a point-to-point route at the Dale F. Kilwein Memorial Run, which starts at the western end of Patterson Lake just outside Dickinson. From there, the race unfolds along the Crooked Crane Trail and the roads that wind along the southern shore of the lake, all the way to the finish line on the softball fields at the Gress Softball Complex just off 5th Street. It’s mostly flat, with a few rolling hills, organizers say.
