Runners start the out-and-back course for the half marathon at the DeWitt High School track, and from there follow the same route as those running the 10K for the first 5 1/2 miles. The race will unfold along a gradual downhill on roads for the first few miles, followed by stretches on gravel paths around the middle miles of the race, and even some stretches along sidewalks later in the race. The second half features a downhill section that runs alongside the Looking Glass River as runners make their way into DeWitt, and cross the finish line back at the high school.
