Filled with hills that rise nearly 1,400 feet between the starting line at the Contra Loma Reservoir and the race’s peak elevation around the mile 7 marker, Antioch’s Drag-N-Fly Trail Half Marathon takes runners, walkers and hikers along the hilly single-track trails of Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, a 5,375-acre park that once was a center of coal mining here in the Easy Bay region, with five coal mining towns scattered throughout what today is a public park.
