The Encinitas Half Marathon follows an out-and-back course that starts and finishes in the parking lot overlooking Moonlight Beach, just off 3rd Street. From there, runners first head south, where they’ll make a long out-and-back along the Pacific, turning around at Solana Beach. Then they’ll head north for a brief out-and-back along Highway 101, and then head back to where they started through Encinitas and then back onto 101,
