Runners follow an out-and-back loop through Colorado’s Deer Creek Canyon Park near Littleton along what organizers say is a “rough and rocky” route, with nearly 3,000 feet of elevation climb over the half marathon’s 13.1 miles. The race starts and finishes at the Deer Creek Canyon parking lot, and from there heads almost immediately onto the Plymouth Trail, which is followed by stretches along the Homestead and Red Mesa Trails.
