Runners follow an out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes at the Frederick Fairgrounds, and then follow a clockwise course that takes them through a number of local parks, including Baker Park and Fredericktowne Village Park. The course has some hills along its 13.1 miles, especially as runners are approaching the mid-point of the race around Baker Park and Frederick High School.
