Runners follow an out-and-back route along the trails that lead from Galena to the banks of the Mississippi River at the Galena River Fall Half, which starts and finishes at Depot Park. From there, the race unfolds first along the winding Galena River, along Park Avenue and then the Galena Junction Trail and the Aiken Trail, all the way to the race turnaround point at South River Road. Then, you retrace your steps back to Depot Park for the race finish.
