From the race starting and finish line area near Galveston’s Stewart Beach Park, the out-and-back course for the Galveston Half Marathon takes runners along a single loop out towards Seawall Boulevard, where they’ll spend most of the race. Thanks to its location along the Galveston shoreline, nearly every stretch of the course is fast and flat, with the only hill to speak of coming twice in the middle of the race, as runners are heading along Seawall Boulevard toward Boddeker Road. Runners in the half marathon make one loop around the course; the full marathon is two loops.
