Runners follow a point-to-point course up in the Rocky Mountains just west of Denver, starting in Georgetown and finishing in Idaho Springs. There’s a quick two-mile out-and-back loop just south of the starting line through Georgetown first, and then runners head out onto the roads on which they’ll stay for most of the race, Alvarado Road and Stanley Road, which includes a nearly two-mile stretch on dirt roads as the course is nearing the race finish line.
