Runners start the out-and-back course for the half marathon at the intersection of Chapin and Towers Roads near Essex in northwest Vermont, just a few miles east of Burlington. From there, the race makes a clockwise loop along the rolling country roads north of Essex, along Brigham Hill Road, Duffy Road, Rollin Irish Road and Chapin Road back to the start for the race finish.
