Runners follow a point-to-point course at the Governor’s Cup Half Marathon, which starts just outside Helena in nearby Clancy, along Clancy Creek Road. From there, the race heads north along Highway 282 for the next several miles, hitting some challenging hills between miles 3 and 7. The last few miles of the races run gradually downhill, framed by stunning views of mountains all around, until you get to the infamous Cardiac Hill around mile 11. The finish line lies in Helena at Anchor Park, along Last Chance Gulch.
