Runners start the out-and-back course for the race at Eureka’s Madaket Plaza, overlooking the bay and Woodley Island off in the distance. From there, they’ll run along the Waterfront Trail for most of the race, heading first past Halvorson Park and around the trail to the first turnaround point at Tydd Street. Once you make the turn there, you’ll retrace your steps back to the start/finish line area and then continue along the Waterfront Trail all the way to Eureka Marsh and the Elk River Wildlife Sanctuary, where you’ll then turn and head back to Madaket Plaza for the race finish.
