Runners follow an out-and-back course for the Iron Girl Half Marathon, which starts and finishes at the Mall in Columbia along Sterrett Place. From there, the course winds west along Little Patuxent Parkway past the campus of Columbia’s Howard County Community College in the direction of the nearby Clarksville Environmental Area park, through mostly residential neighborhoods, especially in the middle miles of the race.
