Runners start the double loop course for the Joplin Memorial Half at the corner of 8th Street and South Joplin Avenue, and from there head out on a double clockwise loop through the city. The race takes them through Parr Hill Park and Murphy Boulevard Park in memory of those who lost their lives in the May 2011 F5 tornado that tore through the city.
