Run around the western (Nevada) side of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the race features a starting and finish line area that’s just minutes from the Hoover Dam. The course runners along the scenic Lakeshore Road and Boulder Beach Highway, which overlook Lake Mead’s crystal-blue waters. The course is made up entirely of paved surfaces along mostly gentle rolling hills, with a few long, gradual uphills and downhills thrown in. Due to the race being run on national parklands, the course is open to automobile traffic throughout the duration of the race.
