Runners start the out-and-back loop course for the half marathon at the Lake of the Woods marina, near Camp McLaughlin, just off Falls Highway. From there, the race follows an out-and-back path along the trails west of the lake, through forest trails and through some big meadows, including a combination of paved and gravel surfaces as well as single-track trails through the woods.
