Set among the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York state, the course for the Lake Placid Half Marathon is best described as moderately rolling, some flat, with a few steep hills. The most significant hills are near the Nordic ski jumps on Route 73 and leading up to the finish behind the Lake Placid High School. Runners complete the race on the historic 400 meter Olympic speed skating Oval track in the heart of Lake Placid.
