Runners follow an out-and-back loop course for the half marathon along the banks of Icicle Creek and along the base of the mountains here in this central Washington town, situated in a valley in the Wenatchee National Forest. Unlike the full marathon, which starts west of town along Highway 76, the half marathon starts and finishes in the parking lot just off Fish Hatchery Road, and from there follows a counter-clockwise loop around the valley.
