Runners start the out-and-back loop course for the half marathon at the Mt. Clemens Fire Station, and from there they take a straight route through the city for the first 3 miles. This is flat and open area allows runners to space out and set their own pace, and soon after they begin winding through the smaller streets of Mt. Clemens. Around the 5 mile mark, runners head onto the Metropolitan Parkway, where they’ll make a loop around the Metro Beach Metropark.
