The Lights of Life Half Marathon course is set to follow an out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes in Celebration Plaza, a park in the heart of Sulphur Springs, Texas. From there, runners make a counter-clockwise 6.55-mile loop around the course twice, and head past the Sulphur Springs Airport, City Park and the Southwest Dairy Museum, and then back for a stretch past Celebration Plaza again to begin the second loop and the second half of the race. While in the city the course is made up largely of tree-lined neighborhood streets and city blocks, once you get out into the middle miles, the scenery is largely wide-open countryside.
