Runners start and finish the out-and-back loop course for the Loco Half Marathon at Rockingham Junction, along Ash Swamp Road next to the Rockingham Country Club. From there, the course makes a counter-clockwise loop around Ash Swamp Road, Campground Road, Grant Road and Bald Hill Road and onto the Rail Trail for the final few miles of the race. Most of the course is rural roads with plenty of shade and a gentle sloping downhill in the second half of the race.
