The Marquette Half Marathon course starts at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee, Michigan. From there, runners make their way along a combination of a few roads and trails before turning onto the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, a 47-mile-long multi-use trail that stretches from Chocolay to Ishpeming, and features a combination of paved, crushed granite and limestone surfaces. As you can see from the elevation profile below, the course is a fast one, with an overall elevation drop of about 735 feet.
