The Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon course unfolds along the stunningly beautiful blue waters of Hawaii’s Alalakeiki Channel and its Maalea and Makena Bays, where the massive Haleakala Volcano rises off in the distance to form the backdrop for this annual wintertime race. With its mixture of flat stretches and sometimes challenging hills along the coastal roads between Kalama Beach Park and Makena Bay, the half marathon features an out-and-back course with spectacularly scenic views of the ocean along the entire route. While the full marathon starts in Wailea, the half marathon starts and finishes on Front Street in Lahaina, at the finish line where those running the full complete their 26.2 miles.
