Runners start the race next to Sea World Park on Mission Bay, and from there head around the shoreline of the bay through Tecolote Shores North Park, Playa Pacifica Park, Mission Bay Park and De Anza Cove Park and onto Mission Bay Drive, which takes the field across Ross Inlet to the first turnaround point, just off Crown Point Drive. After that, runners head back across the inlet and then into De Anza Cove Park, for a long stretch south along the shoreline of Mission Bay to the finish line in Tecolote Shores North Park.
