In between the starting and finish lines — near the Riverside Convention Center — the Mission Inn Run takes runners through two of Riverside’s major parks, including Fairmount Park, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead (who designed New York City’s Central Park) and features lakes and a golf course in addition to long stretches along the bike trail that unfolds along the stretch of the Santa Ana River that flows through the city.
