Runners make their way along the park roads inside the 985-acre Belle Isle Park in the middle of the Detroit River, which separates the U.S. and Canada, at the Motor City Half Marathon. This largely fast and flat race starts at an elevation of 594 feet above sea level and finishes at 618 feet, for an overall elevation change of about 225 feet during the course of the race. You’ll start on Central Avenue and finish in front of the James Scott Memorial Fountain, one of the park’s most recognizable landmarks.
