For the half marathon course at Bristol’s early fall New Hampshire Marathon, runners start at the mid-way point of the full marathon route, just west of the Sculptured Rocks Geologic Site near Groton, a small town about 13 miles to the northeast of Bristol, near the northern end of Newfound Lake. From there, they follow the second half of the 26.2-mile route all the way south back into Bristol, along a gradual downhill descent on Groton Road, West Shore Road and Lake Road back to the finish line at Kelley Park.
