Runners follow an out-and-back loop course through West Virginia’s third-largest city at the Parkersburg News & Sentinel Half Marathon, which starts at the intersection of 3rd and Juliana Streets downtown. From there, the race takes those running the half marathon (there is also a 2-mile run) through a combination of downtown city streets, parks and suburban neighborhoods south of the city, including a pair of bridge crossings over the Little Kanawha River.
