Runners follow an out-and-back course along the Coney Island Boardwalk at Brooklyn’s NYC Lives (formerly Indian Summer) Half Marathon, which starts and finishes at the Steeplechase Pier. From there, runners first head west all the way to the first turnaround point, near West 37th. Then they head east along the boardwalk for a 3.1-mile loop, which heads out to the end of the boardwalk and back. Then it’s all the way back to the other end of the boardwalk again for another loop, and then another full loop before crossing the finish line back at the pier.
