Runners follow a point-to-point loop course around Central Park the Fred Lebow Half Marathon — often in the snow — at this first event of the year in the New York Road Runners Half Marathon series, the Manhattan Half Marathon in January. From the starting line near the northwest end of the park, runners make two counter-clockwise loops around the roads within the park before crossing the finish line on East Drive, near the Butterfly Gardens
