Runners follow an out-and-back course that starts at Lake Brandt’s Bur Mil Park, on Owl’s Roost Road. From there, runners follow paved surfaces for the first half-mile of the race and then head out onto the Owl’s Roost Trail, which is just over 4 miles of single-track mountain bike trails that wind along the edges of the lakeshore, through the thickly forested areas that surround the water. After crossing a bridge over the lake, runners then head onto the paved Greenway Trail.
