Runners follow a long, north-to-south point-to-point route at the Parks Half Marathon, which begins in Rockville and takes runners south along the Rock Creek Stream Valley to the finish line in nearby Bethesda, and features a changing mix of surfaces, from fast and flat paved roads to crushed gravel trails at some points. Along the course, runners make their way past the Audubon Society sanctuary, Dewey Park and Ken-Gar Palisades Parks, and the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase.
