Runners start the out-and-back course for the half marathon on the edge of the U.S. Oval Historic District, a stone’s throw from the shoreline of Lake Champlain. From there, runners head south and then north along the shoreline for the race’s first couple of miles, and then west toward the campus of SUNY-Empire State College. After making their way on a loop around the city, the course crosses back over the river to the U.S. Oval for the race finish.
