Runners in the half marathon follow an out-and-back route that starts and finishes on East 2nd Street in downtown Wichita, home of the Wave concert venue. From there, the half marathon heads south and then east for an out-and-back stretch along East Douglas Avenue, then continues west toward the Arkansas River, running along the river for several miles in the second half of the race.
