Runners start the Race 13.1 Wilmington Half Marathon course at Lumina Station, a shopping village just a couple of miles from the shore between Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. From there, runners head northwest for an out-and-back stretch along Eastwood Road, and then turn south after the first three miles, to head onto the Cross City Trail. The middle miles of the race unfold through the campus of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and then bring runners back to where they started at Lumina Station for the race finish.
