Runners start the out-and-back course for the Raleigh Greenway Half Marathon at Anderson Point Park, whose nearly 90 acres lie just a few miles east of downtown at the point where the Neuse River and Crabtree Creek come together. From there, runners head first on a 3 1/2-mile out-and-back section that runs past Carolina Lake, followed by a much longer out-and-back stretch on the Neuse River Trail that runs alongside the river.
