Course Map: Rock the Loch Half Marathon

Runners are set to follow an out-and-back route around nearly the entire shoreline of Lake Chabot, a 315-acre lake in the San Francisco Bay Area that lies just a short drive from nearby Oakland and Berkeley. From the starting line at the southern end of the lake, where West Shore Trail and East Shore Trail meet, you’ll run a clockwise loop around the edges of “Loch Chabot” (as the race organizers are calling it) — roughly three miles of the course is paved, while the rest is all natural, dirt trails. The park features more than 20 miles of hiking trails, so you’ll wind your way through the woods and along the shoreline, before heading back to the southern end of the lake for the race finish.
