Runners follow an out-and-back loop route for the half marathon that starts and finishes at Rockford’s Davis Park, along the banks of the Rock River. From there, the course takes runners over two bridge crossings and past a number of local landmarks like the Burpee Museum of Natural History, Martin Memorial and Riverfront Park. Runners — and the races are open to runners only — should expect a fast and flat race throughout, as most of the race course is made up of flat terrain.
