Runners in the half marathon follow the same route as runners in the 10K and 5K races for nearly the first five miles of the race, as it winds through the streets of Haviland and then into the countryside just north of town. Just before reaching the mile 5 marker, the half marathoners split off from those running the 10K and follow an out-and-back stretch that adds 3.45 miles going out and coming back, and then rejoin the rest of the 10K route in to the race finish.
