Runners follow what is roughly a figure-8-shaped course at the Brainerd Jaycees Run for the Lakes Half Marathon, which unfolds through tree-lined forest areas and past several lakes, with lots of wildlife in the woods nearby. Both the full and the half marathon races start along Lower Cullen Road near Nisswa City Park. Runners in the 13.1-mile race make one loop around, while those running 26.2 miles run two loops.
