Runners start the out-and-back course for the Run the River for The Ridge (also called the Peppermint Ridge Half Marathon) at Riverside’s Hidden Valley Wildlife Area, just off Arlington Avenue. From there, the course first heads west along the Santa Ana River Trail to the first turnaround point at Van Buren Boulevard, and then heads back into the wildlife area for some more loops through the park, before returning to a stretch of the first mile again. Then it’s back to the starting line for the race finish.
