Runners will follow an out-and-back course for the Rural Route 13.1 Half Marathon, which starts and finishes in the center of Esbon, next to the post office on Grand Avenue. From there, the race heads out onto the rural roads and highways that surround the town, along mostly hard-packed limestone surfaces with a few paved and dirt road stretches thrown in. Thanks to its location, the course is largely flat with some rolling hills, especially in the middle miles of the race.
