Runners start the 13.1-mile course for this long, flat and fast race at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground near both Surfers Point Park and Seaside Park, where the race gets its name. From there, the course heads first onto the bike path, through Emma Wood State Beach before joining up with Highway 101 for the long stretch out to the halfway turnaround, near Javon Canyon. After that, runners retrace their steps back to the finish line at the campground.
