Flat and paved throughout, the Snake River Canyon Half Marathon starts at Wawawai Landing in Wawawai Canyon, the site of the Washington State University boat landing area, and takes runners along the river at an elevation of about 720 feet above sea level for most of the race. Runners can expect an elevation change of only about 20 feet during the race, which reaches its turnaround point just as runners have passed Water Canyon.
