Course Map: Spicewood Vineyards Half Marathon

Runners follow an out-and-back route for the Spicewood Vineyards Half Marathon, which starts and finishes at the Spicewood Vineyards winery, just off Highway 71 on County Road 409. Much of the course takes runners over rural dirt farm roads, whose surfaces can be alternately rocky, sandy or even slippery in spots, so the race organizers send volunteers out to ensure that any tricky spots are covered. The biggest hills occur in the middle of the race, and that’s also where the best, most panoramic views of the scenery all around can be found.
