Course Map: Steep Ravine Trail Run Half Marathon

Runners follow a combination of the trails that wind through Mount Tamalpais State Park just north of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, along an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at Stinson Beach. From there, runners follow the Dipsea, Steep Ravine, TCC, Ben Johnson, Sierra and Troop 80 trails through the forest, and then rejoin the Dipsea Trail for the home stretch back in to the race finish line at the beach. For those running the half marathon, the first three to four miles provide some of the toughest challenges of the race, as the course rises from about 26 feet above sea level at the starting line to nearly 1,500 feet by the time you’ve reached the mile 3 marker. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
