Runners start the out-and-back loop course for the Swinging Bridge Half near the picnic area within Tims Ford State Park, a 3,500-acre park between Winchester and nearby Lynchburg, Tennessee, the home of the famed Jack Daniels Distillery. From the starting line area, you’ll wind your way along many of the park’s 15 miles of single-track trails, hewing close to the lakeshore in some stretches while other stretches take you through the woods. You’ll experience several bridge crossings during the half marathon, organizers note, as well as plenty of views of the lake.
