Runners follow roughly an out-and-back course along the shoreline of Waikiki Beach and Honolulu Harbor at the Hapalua Half, which starts near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue on Kalakaua Avenue. From there, the course heads west and north along Kalakaua and Ala Moana Boulevard, all the way to the turnaround at Honolulu Harbor, along Smith Street and King Street. The last few miles of the race unfold as a loop around Diamond Head Crater Park, before finishing up in Kapiloani Park.
